The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced on Sunday that Sri Lanka will host the U19 Men’s World Cup in 2024. Meanwhile, it has been confirmed that Malaysia and Thailand will host the U19 Women’s T20 World Cup in 2025.
A Board subcommittee led by Martin Snedden oversaw a competitive bidding procedure that resulted in the hosts being chosen. The committee, working with ICC administration, thoroughly examined each bid, and the board of directors of the organization accepted its recommendations.
The U-19 Women’s T20 World Cup was won by Team India on Sunday, January 29, 2023, defeating England by a score of 7 wickets. Shafali Verma was captain. The Indian women’s team has never before at any level won a World Cup championship.

The top three teams from each group at the Women’s T20 World Cup 2023, along with the host Bangladesh (if not in the top three of Group 1), and the next four highest-ranked teams on the T20I Rankings as of February 27, 2023, will automatically qualify for the event. The 10-team Women’s T20 Global Qualifier will be used to determine the last two teams.
The 14-team Men’s 50-over World Cup qualification process was also decided, with 10 teams receiving automatic qualification.
The next eight best teams in the ODI Rankings on a date to be determined make up the 10 teams, which also includes Full Member hosts South Africa and Zimbabwe. The Global Qualifier will be used to determine the final four teams.
